After breakfast at your hotel, we will start the walking tour in along colonial sites. Reach to St Mary’s Cathedral as the first point. Then down to Secretariat Office. It will tell you the history of Myanmar Independent’s Leader Aung San and some Cabinet Ministers. Also you can explore to Government Press at in front of Secretariat Office. After then, reach to Pansodan street ( formerly Phayre street ). There are a lot of Heritage buildings on Pansodan street as Central Telegraph Office, High Court, Rander House, Sofaer’s Building, Irrawaddy Flotillar Company, Grindlays Bank, Lloyds Bank, Chartered Bank, Port Authority and Currency Department. During British times, the lower Pansodan street was considered the best business address in town.
And walk on to Strand Road, it is the first developed area by British. There are Post Office ( formerly Bulloch Brothers & Co ), British Embassy ( formerly J, & F. Graham Shipping Co ), Strand Hotel, Custom House and Myanmar Economic Bank 3 ( formerly Imperial Bank of India ).
After that, up to Myawaddy Bank ( formerly Reserve Bank of India ), M.O.G.E ( formerly B.O.C company ) and Ministry of Hotels & Tourism ( formerly Myanamr Aswe Department store ), Sule Pagoda, City Hall, Mahabandoola Garden ( formerly Fytche Square ) and formerly Rowe & Co, Department store.
We will break here for the morning walking tour and you can have lunch up to your idea.
At the right time of sunset, it may around 5:00pm, reach to Glorious Shwedagon Pagoda. There is more gold plastered onto the sides of the Shwedagon than in all the vaults of the Bank of England.
